Our magazine is going to be aimed at 16-27 year old females who have an interest in fashion, fashion designers, fashion photography, the fashion industry and even fashion from different eras. This is because it is a magazine based on fashion and most women are more interested in fashion then men. We intend for it to include fashion shoot photographs and also picture of fashion from different eras such as the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s fashion etc, and also we are hoping to include a section on the street fashion of today where we will take photographs of people in the streets looking at a range of different fashion genres. The magazine will be called “Two Blondes And A Brunette” and hopefully there will be reviews of London Fashion Week included.
The time spent on our magazine will be spent doing research for different eras, using the internet, books, magazines and other sources of information and also actually going out on the streets in different places asking the public for their own opinions on fashion and the fashion industry. These will be included in our magazine as well as photographs of the people we ask. We will create a model release where we will ask for permission to take photographs of the public and for their consent for us to publish them in our magazine for coursework.
We will be using a variety of equipment whilst producing our magazine. These will include a basic slr cannon camera to use for photographing our models and use for taking any other pictures we will include; a computer with the internet, photoshop, in design and Microsoft word; and also a photo studio for our studio pictures. The streets from a variety of areas will be used to take photos of models for our public street fashion section.
We will be using photographs using ourselves as models, where clothes which were in fashion in certain eras, and also use friends and people we know who are willing to be used a model for our magazine. When we take the photographs we will make sure our hair and make up is that of the era we are shooting for at the time, all hair and makeup will be done by ourselves so it is all our own work. We may use some props to help with the modelling so that all the pictures are not the same, it will make all the images unique and interesting for the readers to look at.
Before we start to create our magazine we will have to conduct some research. This will consist of a questionnaire about fashion magazines asked to a range of people, also research about different era’s of fashion using books, old magazines and also the internet. This will not only give us a better understanding of the fashion eras we are going to include in our magazine but also give us some more ideas for poses which suit each decade, so we can have a range of poses each using the most popular poses of that decade.
